Job Description

Nuclear Waste Services has a vacancy for a Business Case Development Lead to join its busy team.

As part of this role, you will lead the planning, development, drafting and oversee production and delivery of allocated business cases required for the substantiation and delivery of new business opportunities into and value for Nuclear Waste Services and hence development of the business. The role holder will be prepared to challenge expert input and is responsible for ensuring that the business complies with NDA/BEIS organisational and HM Treasury requirements, together with using lessons learned from similar projects and cases to inform Business Case preparation.

The role holder will work directly for and in support of the Head of Business Development. They will provide guidance to or presentation of outcomes at IWMP,NWS, NDA and SLC Senior Management or Committees as appropriate, and other relevant programme and project team leads on a day-to-day basis.

Through your knowledge, expertise and leadership the BCL will grow the in-house capability for producing compelling, high quality business cases. They will become the subject matter expert and be a trusted advisor to the executive and senior management.

You will devise and provide guidance and advice to programmes and project teams on the requirements and development of Business Cases, using organisational templates and the HM Treasury 5 case model, and support the Head of Business Development in developing and deploying a governance and control process to deliver the business’s growth strategy. Aligned to this, you will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate documentation, liaison and assurance are in place, including full costings, benefits, capability and management planning, to support development of any allocated business cases together with meeting audit and organisational requirements.

You will provide daily support to the Head of Business Development and deputise where and as required.
