Job Description

Nuclear Waste Services has a vacancy for a EHSSQ Performance Monitoring and Improvement Lead to join its busy team. 

This role acts as the EHSSQ Performance Monitoring and Improvement Lead. 

  • Drive delivery of the EHSS&Q work and improvement programmes, ensuring this support the NWS mission and customer needs. 
  • Provide coordinated and relevant EHSS&Q performance reporting to support governance, assurance and continual improvement across the enterprise. 
  • Develop the engagement and relationship with internal customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support the development and delivery of the EHSS&Q work and improvement programmes, ensuring they support the NWS mission and internal customer needs and deliver the required safety, security, environmental and quality improvements across NWS.
  • Support provision of appropriate programme documentation, delivery structure, strategy and planning, resourcing, analysis and management of programme risks, as well as leading the development and delivery of solutions for cross-cutting programme areas.
  • Support the project managers and Subject Matter Experts who are responsible for managing and delivering work within the distinct areas of the programmes.
  • Support coordinated and relevant EHSS&Q performance reporting to support governance, assurance and continual improvement across the enterprise, providing one source of the truth for EHSS&Q performance reporting, tailoring the reporting for the audience and evolving reporting so that it remains current and achieves the required outcomes.
  • Drive appropriate liaison across all levels of the enterprise and within the team to ensure the EHSS&Q work and improvement programmes are appropriate to deliver the NWS mission and strategy and that the support required to deliver them from across the enterprise is both understood and obtained.
  • Liaise with internal customers to ensure their reasonable needs are being met and proposing action where relationships can be improved.
Experience Required

Essential

  • Basic competence in Project & Programme Management.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to behave professionally in challenging circumstances, engage with a range of stakeholders to effectively drive change and proven leadership in challenging conversations involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills, together with the ability to communicate complex messages to a wide range of audiences and maintain collaborative working relationships.

Desirable

  • Broadly-based familiarity with the NDA, NWS and radioactive waste management in the UK.
  • Knowledge of EHSSQ performance indicators.
