Nuclear Waste Services is looking for a Performance Data Analyst to join our busy team across the UK.

The Performance Improvement Capability supports Nuclear Waste Services to “make nuclear waste permanently safer, sooner” by helping the organisation to improve how it delivers work (to “make doing work easy”). c to:

  • Deliver performance data management activities for Nuclear Waste Services, to enable data-led decision making and improvement across the business.
  • Improve data management culture and approach in the business.
     
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Deliver performance data management activities for the Transformation Programme. Collect, collate, and cleanse performance data from sources across Nuclear Waste Services; and perform relevant data analyses on this collated data; so that the organisation can develop insight from this data and use this to make decisions.
  • Work with colleagues across the Performance Improvement team to provide data to support improvement interventions and activities; to help ensure that improvement activities are targeted and that their progress can be monitored.
  • Develop and maintain inter-organisational networks and relationships to support the collection and collation of performance data; to help the easy and quick capture of key data from the organisation.
  • Identify gaps in performance data availability and quality, and work with the Performance Analyst and the business to resolve these gaps; to help ensure that our performance data is complete and fit-for-purpose for use by the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain data systems to reorganise performance data into accessible formats and to enable insights to be drawn; to help ensure that our performance data is accessible and interrogable for the organisation.
  • Prepare performance data analysis outputs for relevant stakeholders; so that the organisation can develop insight from this data and use this to make decisions.
  • Support work engaging with the wider Nuclear Waste Services business to identify performance data improvement opportunities, propose methods / approaches to improve data and work with data owners to make these improvements happen; to help ensure that our performance data is complete and fit-for-purpose for use by the organisation.
  • Advise and coach personnel across Nuclear Waste Services on performance data, to support increasing information availability and quality; to help the business improve its use of performance data.
  • Deputise for the Performance Analyst as required to support delivery of the performance data delivery area; to ensure that the team is appropriately represented at key meetings and events.
Experience Required

Essential

  • Proven high level of competence in data management.
  • Personal resilience, the ability to work under pressure on a range of competing challenges, self-motivation, and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Confidence and professionalism with good interpersonal skills, high standards and attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate to people at different levels of the business.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Good IT proficiency, including use of Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint

Desirable

  • Relevant degree level, professional qualification or proven track record showing relevant experience. Suitable work experience in lieu of qualifications or alternative qualification pathways may be considered where appropriate (desirable). 
  • High level understanding of radioactive waste management practice in the UK and the NDA estate.
