  • To identify and implement potential improvements to the environmental monitoring programme to ensure that the programme remains appropriate.
  • Take a lead role in the review of collected data and production of factual and interpretative reports in order to allow communication of environmental monitoring and site characterisation conditions.
  • Take a lead role in the implementation of suitable environmental dust monitoring, interpretation of dust monitoring data and production of dust monitoring reports.
  • Undertake compilation, entry and QA checking of data to be imported into the environmental monitoring and geotechnical databases.
  • Provide advice and guidance on environmental monitoring, land quality and site characterisation in support of statutory requirements, safety cases, site operations and projects.
  • Take an active role in improvement initiatives/projects, where required.
  • Comply with legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures e.g. safety, quality, risk, security etc. applicable to the role.
Experience Required

Due to the large range of tasks that the role requires the successful applicant will need to be able to show a broad knowledge of environmental monitoring and site characterisation. The following skills/qualifications are considered to be essential in the role:

  • Relevant degree in environmental subject (minimum 2:2).
  • Relevant experience in carrying out environmental monitoring.
  • Interest in geology / hydrogeology / hydrology.
