Job Description

The scope of the work is to support the delivery of Legacy Waste Package Records (WPRs) for Vault 9 Consignments, which is being delivered within the Waste Inventory Team at Nuclear Waste Services. This project began in FY20/21 and has produced final WPRs for roughly half of the consignments in Vault 9. The project requires an individual with self-motivation, efficiency and attention to detail to support completion of the project.

In addition to the core responsibilities, the role may also be required to provide secondary support to other records related project activities within the Waste Inventory Team.

Roles and Responsibilities

The work to deliver the remaining WPRs will involve undertaking of the following tasks:

  • gathering documentation (both in electronic and paper format);
  • scanning paper documentation;
  • checking of documentation against defined checklists;
  • collation of documentation to form a record for each consignment;
  • supporting preparation of documents and associated metadata for migration on to the LLWR Hub environment;
  • recording of any issues identified with the documentation checked; and attendance and input at project progress meetings
  • close working with Waste Inventory & Compliance Technical Assistant (who is acting in the role of ‘Records Coordinator’) to complete the project.
Experience Required

Essential Skills:

  • Strong organisation skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficient in use of MS Office applications and Adobe Acrobat

 Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in working with projects managing a large numbers of documents
  • Experience with the specific LLWR WPR documentation types, principally, Waste Consignment Information forms and Management forms, LLWR Consignment Checklists, Waste Characterisation and Variation forms
