Job Description

Nuclear Transport Solutions are looking for a Environmental Advisor to join their team in Carlisle, and performing regular detailed inspections of all NTS locations.

As part of this role you will use your expert knowledge and skills to promote a positive an Environmental culture in the workplace based around the guiding principles, and for the development and supporting of environment procedures by interpretation of regulations and industry guidance, to minimise the risk of environmental incidents as a result of work activities. 

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support and provide technical advice on the development & review of procedures and working documents to ensure they meet the appropriate standards
  • Conducting in-house awareness  sessions on environmental compliance requirements
  • Support Environmental incident investigations to ensure that all reports are critically reviewed , support development of key LFE and actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Via auditing ensure compliance is being met by NTS staff and Contractors to required company and legal standards
  • Assist the HSEQ Dept in the continued improvement of Environmental Management
  • Provide technical support to team leaders, Managers and Functional Heads on all environmental matters
  • Provide a credible interface and represent the HSEQ Department at meetings with Customers, Professional Bodies e.g. Chamber of Shipping, RSSB, NR, other FOCs. Feeding back results to Colleagues & other Departments as necessary
  • Produce Environmental communications with the aim of continually improving the communication of key topics and risks
  • Maintain good technical knowledge, including environment legislation, good practice in the Nuclear/Rail/Shipping Industry
