Nuclear Transport Solutions are looking for a Transport Manager (Nuclear) to join their team in Warrington, working offsite in the UK, overseas travel, extended and out of hours work patterns.

As part of this role you will relate to the planning, preparation and supervision of safe, secure and complex regulatory-compliant Radioactive Material (RAM) Transports supporting the Lead Transport Manager for package interfacing including cargo handling and landside based transport operations.

The Transport Manager will also manage routine transports and provide support to asset management, lifting and radiological protection services. All activities will be in accordance with the NTS Quality Management System and Transport of Nuclear Cargo Processes.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support on the management of the Transport Cycle initiation through to transport close-out
  • Management of Routine Transports of RAM (under supervision of Lead Transport Manager as required)
  • Delivery of RAM transports in accordance with business requirements and transport schedules
  • Responsible Superintending Officer for various contracts including storage, inspection services and package leasing
  • Supporting the maintenance and care of NTS, NDA and third party owned transport assets (excluding ships)
  • Witnessing and providing verification that operational assets (owned and third party, excluding ships) have been maintained in line with regulatory requirements and available to meet transport schedules including spares usage and management
  • Management and generation of operational and delivery risk assessments for UK and Overseas transport activities
Experience Required
  • Minimum; BSc Degree or NVQ Level 6 or HND in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline (or demonstrable equivalent experience)
  • Desirable; Membership of a related professional body (NI, IMechE, IET, CILT, CMI, APM, ITM)
  • Minimum; Qualified DGSA (Road and Rail)
  • Minimum; Radiological Protection Supervisor
  • Minimum; Advance IMDG qualification
  • Minimum; RAMTUC Level 3 training or equivalent demonstrable knowledge
  • Minimum; IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • Minimum; IOSH Understanding Human Factors and Behaviours
  • Desirable; NEBOSH National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals or equivalent
  • Minimum; PUWER and LOLER qualifications
