Nuclear Transport Solutions are looking for a Health & Safety Manager to be responsible for the management and development of process, procedures and people to deliver world leading H&S performance based around the guiding principles. Providing advice, challenge and expertise to ensure performance and compliance in line with business, NDA and Regulator requirements.

Supporting the Head of Health & Safety in developing and implementing plans to deliver the H&S strategy. You will have excellent experience, knowledge and understanding of H&S Legislative Requirements and experience in investigation including root cause analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead on the technical advice and development of the SMS and all associated documentation in compliance with Regulator and Industry standards
  • Lead on investigations and remit setting to ensure that suitable root causes are established and lessons fully identified and implemented
  • Support on the continual development of strong relationships within the HSEQ team, NTS, NDA and key external stakeholders including industry bodies and Regulators
  • Lead on the development and delivery of any in house training to ensure our people are SQEP in line with Regulator and Industry standards
  • Ensure that NTS is ahead of any industry or regulatory updates, maintaining oversight and development of the SMS as appropriate
  • Provide a credible interface and represent the H&S Department at meetings with Customers, Professional Bodies e.g. Chamber of Shipping, RSSB, NR, other FOCs. Feeding back results to Colleagues & other Departments as necessary
  • Support on the continual development of an HSE risk register, level 2 assurance of H&S risk and maximise any opportunities identified maintaining compliance to schedules
  • Support on identification of opportunities for H&S improvement through lagging and leading indicators: support in working with other NTS functions or industry on improvement plans
  • Support on the oversight of any H&S Licences or Permits required to operate
  • Chair National H&S Rep Meetings
